Cecilie Bahnsen x ASICS GT-2160 Launch During Paris Fashion Week

Today, Cecilie Bahnsen is pleased to announce an exclusive collaboration with ASICS, coming together to launch a collection of trainers, re-interpreting ASICS’ GT-2160 style. Following the highly anticipated capsules of hand-embellished trainers developed between the brands, this collaboration continues to celebrate the intersection of everyday couture, movement and ease, combining Bahnsen’s intricate feminine DNA with ASICS’s technical expertise.

In launching this cherished project, Cecile Bahnsen has come together with regular collaborator of the brand, Japanese photographer Takashi Homma, to create a captivating visual showcase of the Cecilie Bahnsen x ASICS collaboration. The campaign captures the essence of the collection with images of a girl gracefully moving through Tokyo at twilight, donning the ASICS trainers and the Cecilie Bahnsen Fall Winter 2023 Collection. Inspired by a noir-ish, sci-fi feeling, the campaign exudes a sense of freedom as she navigates through the city, creating a mesmerising visual narrative.

Building upon an ongoing partnership with ASICS, this new collaboration continues to push the boundaries of Cecilie Bahnsen’s modern vision of femininity, interpreted through the lens of movement, motion, and mindfulness. Finding harmony between intricate couture detailing and hyper-feminine embellishments with ASICS’ technical and functional universe is an exciting design challenge that we welcome with each collaboration.

The campaign and collaboration was presented in a gallery style format during a pop-up event at Dover Street Market in Paris, coinciding with Paris Fashion Week. Taking place from June 21st to 24th, the pop-up featured large scale prints of Takashi Homma’s images, carefully displayed throughout the space. The presentation payed homage to the studied craftsmanship and passion invested in this collaboration, echoing the artistry behind each shoe. The trainers, exhibited on plinths in a raw space, created a striking contrast in merging Cecilie Bahnsen’s feminine universe with ASICS’s technical appeal alongside the visual campaign, resulting in a Gesamtkunstwerk experience.

The first of two drops of the Cecilie Bahnsen x ASICS collection will officially launch on ceciliebahnsen.com and MATCHES on July 5th. The trainers will be available in two colourways; black and white, priced at €190. With comfort and unique style sitting at the core of the collaboration, the trainer is constructed with a light, feminine and modern take on a Mary Jane shoe, where transparencies and florals are paired with everyday couture.
